Mike Hunter
Aerospace Engineer · Founder & Editor, Verdict
Aerospace engineer based in Southern California with twelve-plus years designing systems for a major aerospace and defense manufacturer, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and a University of Central Florida graduate. I evaluate consumer products the same way I evaluate engineering claims — by tracing every rating back to the source data.
Background
I've spent twelve-plus years as an aerospace engineer designing systems for a major aerospace and defense manufacturer, I'm a University of Central Florida graduate, and I hold a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. The short version: most of my career has been spent staring at data and arguing about whether it actually means what people claim it means. Verdict is me pointing that same skepticism at consumer products.
How Verdict works
Verdict publishes aggregated reviews, not first-person product tests. I built and run the aggregation system: it collects ratings from named, independent sources — professional review publications, YouTube reviewers, and Reddit buyer reports — averages the numeric scores, and synthesizes the recurring strengths and complaints. No editor adjusts the ranking, and I don't claim to have personally tested these products. My job is auditing the system's output: every rating links to its sources so you can click through and verify it yourself. The full process is on the methodology page.

Independence
Verdict is sponsor-free and not affiliated with any manufacturer. Amazon links earn a small commission if you buy, with zero influence on rankings. Want a category covered? The contact form is the way to reach me.
