The LG Artcool Deluxe KNSAL brings a modern look plus horizontal air discharge, which deals with the discomfort common to traditional wall-mounted units. Reviewers noted a human detection sensor that improves energy efficiency by shifting airflow based on who's in the room. It comes in multiple power options but drops some features found in the Premium variant. Buyers who want a sleek, efficient cooler without the premium price will like it, though anyone after advanced occupancy detection should consider the Deluxe model instead.

Horizontal discharge instead of a draught down the wall
The Artcool Deluxe's selling point is horizontal air discharge, which pushes conditioned air along the ceiling rather than dropping it on whoever is sitting beneath the head. A human detection sensor shifts airflow according to where people are in the room and eases off when it is empty, and that is where the claimed energy saving comes from. The indoor unit is a 12,000 BTU single-zone head weighing 55.3 pounds, styled to look like something other than an air conditioner.
Rated to keep heating in deep cold
LG rates the unit for full heating capacity well below freezing and continued operation far colder than that, which is the specification that matters in northern climates and the reason to pick a heat pump head over a window unit. It runs on R-32 refrigerant, which carries a lower global warming potential than the refrigerants it replaces. Efficiency does taper at the extreme end of the rated band, so a house that regularly sees the bottom of it should be sized accordingly.
A contractor job, not a weekend one
Installation needs a qualified HVAC contractor for refrigerant charging and the 208/230V electrical work, so the purchase price is only part of what this costs to own. The indoor head is wall-mounted and ships with its bracket, and it needs clear space around it for airflow. Anyone hoping to self-install a mini-split should be looking at a pre-charged DIY system instead, because this is not one.
SmartThinQ control, with connectivity complaints
SmartThinQ handles temperature, fan speed and scheduling from a phone, and Auto Clean+ dries the coil to stop the head smelling. Owners report the app dropping its connection and responding slowly, a familiar complaint across LG's connected appliances. The unit is also audibly louder at startup than the marketing suggests, though fan speed is adjustable, and at the smaller capacities the outdoor unit is heavier than the Premium version above it in the range.
Strengths
- +Features horizontal air discharge capability for more comfortable airflow
- +Includes human detection sensor for energy-saving operation
- +Compact external unit design with lighter interior unit
- +Supports multiple power options (2.5, 3.5, 5, and 7.1 KW)
Watch-outs
- −Lacks the human detection sensor found in the Premium model
- −External unit for 2.5 and 3.5 KW models is heavier than the Premium version
How it compares
The LG Artcool Deluxe KNSAL features horizontal air discharge and human detection sensor, advantages not found in the more basic Senville LETO Series. However, unlike the Senville AURA Series which offers WiFi and Alexa compatibility, the LG model lacks smart home integration and is priced higher without matching the AURA's efficiency or compressor quality.

“LG: Looks Great, But Annoying to Install. There's something really interesting about Korean engineering vs. Japanese engineering. I think Korean brands are more likely to try putting cool new features in their products, whether it works or not.”
“the premium model has more facilities offered by the human presence sensor and even if you are not necessarily interested in these things you can choose it for higher Energy Efficiency”
“amazing system we love them uh great option for you if you're try be very efficient and try to cool your home and be more comfortable at the same time”
