92 percent on low pile, 62 percent on high
Measured pickup runs 92 percent of debris on low-pile carpet and 96 percent on bare hardwood, rising to 97 percent on low pile when the head is drawn back over the same debris. High-pile carpet is where it falls away, at 62 percent, and there is no manual brush-height lever to lift the nozzle for thick rugs. The low-profile head also pushes larger debris ahead of itself rather than swallowing it, and edges along skirting boards usually need a second pass.
Three washable filters and a post-motor HEPA
Filtration is the strongest part of the machine and unusual at this price: three filters, all washable and reusable, with a HEPA element after the motor and a sealed path so exhaust does not leak around it. The pre-motor foam and felt need rinsing and full air-drying about every three months, more often with heavy use. There is no coarse pre-filter catching large debris, so airflow drops noticeably if the stack is neglected.
A 7.5-pound lift-away pod, but not a powered one
The pod detaches at 7.5 pounds out of the vacuum's 12.5-pound total, so stairs, upholstery and car interiors are reachable with the wand in one hand. It is not a powered lift-away — the tools stay unmotorised once the pod is off the frame, which limits it on carpeted stairs where a driven brush does the work. A brushroll shutoff switch sits just above the dust cup so the roller can be stopped on bare floors, where the stiff bristles otherwise scuff and scatter.
A 25-foot cord and a 1.2-quart dust cup
Two numbers set the working radius: a 25-foot cord and a 1.2-dry-quart cup. Neither is generous. The cord means hunting for another outlet part-way through most rooms, and the cup fills fast enough during a whole-house clean that emptying becomes part of the routine rather than an afterthought. Emptying itself is painless — hold the cup over the bin and press the release tab.
Pet hair wraps the brushroll and has to be cut off
Pet hair is the clearest weakness.
