APEC ROES-PH75 vs Waterdrop G3P800

Which is the better buy? Side-by-side on rating, price, strengths, and watch-outs — with the published ratings we averaged to get there.

The short answer

Waterdrop G3P800 comes out ahead by a narrow margin (4.5 vs 4.7). The gap is mostly about Households that want the fastest, most space-efficient certified RO water and don't mind paying a premium for a smart tankless system. — read the strengths below before deciding.

APEC ROES-PH75
Ranked #4 in Best Reverse Osmosis Systems
APEC ROES-PH75
$239.99as of Jun 7

The APEC ROES-PH75 is the WQA-certified remineralizing RO system, a 6-stage unit that adds an alkaline stage to put healthy minerals back and raise pH after purification. It removes up to 99% of TDS plus a broad contaminant range, outputs 75 GPD into a 4-gallon tank, and uses extra high-capacity pre-filters. Like all tank RO it's bulkier and slower than tankless, but for independently certified, mineral-balanced RO water it's a strong choice.

Strengths
  • WQA certified with independently verified contaminant reduction
  • 6-stage design with alkaline remineralization that adds minerals back and raises pH
  • 75 GPD output, higher than the ROES-50, with a 4-gallon auto-refill tank
Watch-outs
  • Tank takes up significant under-sink space
  • Slower dispensing and more water waste than tankless systems
  • More filters to maintain than a 5-stage system
Waterdrop G3P800
Higher ratedRanked #1 in Best Reverse Osmosis Systems
Waterdrop G3P800
$849as of Jun 7

The Waterdrop G3P800 is the best overall reverse osmosis system, a tankless 800 GPD unit that's NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 372 certified and dispenses water fast with no storage tank. It posted one of the best efficiency ratios of any tankless RO tested at 3:1 pure-to-drain, and lab testing confirmed 93-95% TDS reduction. Its only real gaps are price and the lack of built-in remineralization, which Waterdrop sells separately.

Strengths
  • NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 372 certified, covering taste, health contaminants, TDS and lead-free materials
  • Tankless 800 GPD design dispenses fast and saves under-sink space
  • Excellent 3:1 pure-to-drain efficiency, among the best of any tankless RO tested
Watch-outs
  • Premium price versus traditional tank-based RO systems
  • No built-in remineralization; water can taste flat without the add-on
  • Requires electricity and a drain connection

How they stack up

APEC ROES-PH75

The remineralizing sibling of the APEC ROES-50, comparable to the iSpring RCC7AK on alkaline output but with WQA rather than whole-system certification. Bulkier and slower than the tankless Waterdrop G3P800 and Waterdrop D6, but cheaper than the G3P800.

Waterdrop G3P800

More certified standards and faster flow than the tank-based iSpring RCC7AK and APEC ROES-50, and a higher GPD than the Waterdrop D6. Unlike the iSpring RCC7AK and APEC ROES-PH75, it doesn't include remineralization, trading that for tankless speed and efficiency.
