1000 VA and 600 W in a 1U rack chassis
The form factor is the whole point of this model: 1000 VA and 600 W in a metal case 17.05 inches wide and 1.75 inches tall, so it racks rather than sitting under a desk. Four 6V 7.0Ah sealed lead-acid cells sit inside feeding six NEMA 5-15R outlets. The input window runs 90 to 140 Vac, wide enough that most brownouts get corrected rather than triggering a transfer to battery.
An LCD with eleven readouts instead of a row of lights
The front panel reports AVR status, estimated runtime, battery capacity, load level, input and output voltage, output frequency, on-battery state, overload, fault and silent mode. On a UPS living in a rack that is the difference between knowing the load is too high and discovering it during the next outage. PowerPanel Business Edition handles the orderly shutdown over USB or serial.
13 minutes at half load
Runtime is 13 minutes at half load and considerably less with the unit loaded to its 600 W rating. That is a shutdown window, not a way to stay online through a storm, and it is the number to size the load around. Voltage regulation helps indirectly: by boosting and bucking within the 90 to 140 Vac range it corrects sags without spending any battery at all.
A simulated sine wave, and what that rules out
Output on battery is a stepped approximation of a sine wave rather than the real thing. Network switches, older power supplies and most telecom gear do not care. Active-PFC supplies, which cover most desktops and servers built in the last decade, can refuse to run on it or drop out at the moment of transfer, so check the load before ordering.
Remote management is a separate purchase
SNMP and browser management require the optional RMCARD205 in the expansion slot; out of the box the unit talks over USB and serial only. Owners have also reported awkward firmware updates that needed serial console access, and at least one unit that would not restart after an outage without someone physically present, which is precisely the scenario a rack UPS exists to cover.

How it compares
Against an APC unit of similar capacity this is usually the cheaper route to a rackmount UPS with a real diagnostic display, and it gives up pure sine wave output and some firmware polish to get there. Anything with an active-PFC power supply, which covers most modern desktops and servers, wants a sine-wave model instead.
