EQUSUPRO 150ml Black Metal Essential Oil Diffuser

Averaged from 1 published rating + 2 derived from video reviews
The verdict

The EQUSUPRO is a 150ml ultrasonic diffuser in a black metal shell, priced at the bottom of the category. It mists continuously or on a 30-seconds-on, 30-off cycle, runs whisper quiet, and adds a seven-colour LED nightlight. There is no app, no scheduling and no smart timer; the controls are buttons on the unit. TechGearLab's aromatherapy diffuser roundup ranks it eighth, praising its vivid light patterns but faulting its inconsistent, underwhelming diffusing performance, and the two video reviews in its citation list both land at 4.5.

Full review

A black metal shell instead of the usual plastic dome

Almost everything at this price is moulded plastic, and the EQUSUPRO puts a patterned metal cover over the tank instead, which is the main reason to pick it. The cover lifts off for refilling. It measures about 6.6 inches across and 6.3 inches tall, so it is a tabletop object rather than something that disappears on a shelf. The seven LED colours sit under the cover and read as a soft nightlight rather than a lamp.

A 150ml tank for a room of about 10 square metres

The tank holds 150ml, small next to the 500ml-plus units, so daily use means frequent refills. Coverage is roughly 10 square metres, which is a bedroom, a home office or a bathroom, and the ultrasonic plate throws a fine cool mist rather than a heavy plume. In a genuinely small room the output can be more than you want, and the only way to dial it back is the intermittent mode.

Continuous, or 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off

There are two mist modes and no timer: continuous, or an intermittent cycle alternating 30 seconds of mist with 30 seconds of nothing. If you want a unit that shuts itself down after a couple of hours, this is not it, because the auto shut-off only fires when the water runs out. That suits a diffuser you switch on for an evening and off at bedtime, and frustrates anyone who wanted it scheduled.

Corded, with the adapter routed into the tank housing

There is no battery, so the diffuser lives wherever a socket reaches, and the power adapter runs into the same housing that holds the water, which is worth being careful about at refill time. Dry it before plugging it back in. For a whisper-quiet ultrasonic diffuser with a metal finish at this price those are reasonable terms, but buyers who want scheduling, app control or a tank that survives two nights should spend more.

Strengths

  • +Compact design suitable for small spaces
  • +Black metal aesthetic with modern appearance
  • +Easy to use with simple controls and LED lighting

Watch-outs

  • Limited water capacity at 150ml
  • No smart connectivity or app control features

How it compares

The EQUSUPRO diffuser's compact design and black metal aesthetic distinguish it from the larger ASAKUKI and LEVOIT models, though its 150ml tank capacity is significantly smaller than ASAKUKI's 500ml. Unlike the Ultimate Aromatherapy Diffuser, it doesn't include essential oils, and compared to the Art Glass Diffuser, it lacks the premium glass construction and more advanced timer options. It's best suited for those who prefer a sleek, basic model without smart features.

Ultimate Aromatherapy Diffuser & Essential Oil Set
#2

Ultimate Aromatherapy Diffuser & Essential Oil Set

The Ultimate Aromatherapy Diffuser sets itself apart by including 10 therapeutic-grade essential oils in 10ml amber jars, a feature not found in the ASAKUKI or EQUSUPRO models. While it offers strong mist output and 14 light combinations, it's made of BPA-free plastic with a wood grain design that some find unappealing, unlike the ceramic or glass options from Earnest Living and Art Glass Diffuser. Its timer and auto-shutoff features are also more advanced than the basic models like Homeweeks.

ASAKUKI 500 mL Essential Oil Diffuser
#3

ASAKUKI 500 mL Essential Oil Diffuser

The ASAKUKI Essential Oil Diffuser stands out with its large 500ml tank offering up to 16 hours of runtime, far exceeding the 150ml to 300ml capacities of competitors like EQUSUPRO and Homeweeks. While it lacks adjustable mist intensity without the remote, it surpasses the LEVOIT in runtime and offers a more comprehensive lighting system with 7 LED settings compared to the LEVOIT's absence of lighting features. Its remote control functionality also gives it an edge over the basic models like Earnest Living and Air Wick.

Air Wick Essential Mist Starter Kit
#4

Air Wick Essential Mist Starter Kit

The Air Wick Starter Kit is unique in its cordless, battery-powered operation, making it more portable than the ASAKUKI and LEVOIT models. However, it's limited to 1 refill and offers only 3 fragrance intensity settings, unlike the Ultimate Aromatherapy Diffuser's 10ml oil bottles or the EQUSUPRO's 150ml tank. While it's simple to use and has a long-lasting refill, it lacks the timer and lighting features of the more feature-rich competitors like Homeweeks and Earnest Living.
