The verdict

The Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker MC1101UK works as a slow cooker, steamer, and rice cooker in one unit. Trusted Reviews praised its sleek design, functionality, and eight cooking modes, while flagging that it costs more than some alternatives. It has a 6L capacity, a removable aluminium pot, and a digital control panel suited to modern kitchens. Reviewers pointed to the premium pricing and slow preheating as the main downsides. Buyers who want one countertop appliance covering several jobs will get their money's worth; budget-conscious shoppers probably won't.

Full review

Eight modes in one six-litre pot

The PossibleCooker covers Slow Cook, Sear/Saute, Steam, White Rice, Brown Rice, Pasta, Porridge and Keep Warm from a single 6L pot, with digital controls and a glass lid cut out for the supplied spatula. Searing in the same vessel before a long slow cook is the practical benefit, and Ideal Home's Molly Cleary rated the sear function excellent. Keep Warm holds food for up to 12 hours, which covers a working day.

An aluminium pot that goes in the oven

The removable pot is aluminium rather than ceramic, which keeps the weight down and lets it go into the oven to crisp a topping or finish a dish under heat. Trusted Reviews found the controls tactile and the programming straightforward, and the midnight blue and brushed silver finish is unusually smart for a multi-cooker. Cleaning is simple enough, though nothing in the box is designed for scraping the pot.

Slow to preheat, and priced above the obvious rivals

Preheating is slow, and that is the complaint that comes up most, because it stretches timings that look quick on the mode list. There is no blending function in the pot, so soups still need a second appliance. Trusted Reviews also flagged the price as high against comparable Cosori multi-cookers, and filling the pot past its comfortable level is not an option for a large gathering.

Worth it only if the modes get used

Trusted Reviews concluded that the cost makes sense for someone who uses the whole mode list and looks steep for someone who will only ever slow cook. That is the right way to read it: one appliance standing in for three, sized at 6L for roughly four to six servings. Buyers who only want a slow cooker will find one for far less money.
