The headline improvement over the BE550G it replaces is endurance: 67 minutes at a 40 Watt load against 43 minutes from the older unit. Forty watts is a realistic figure for the job this class of UPS actually does — a router, a modem and a camera hub rather than a desktop — so the number translates directly into how long a home network survives an outage. Surge capacity rose in the same generation, from 340 to 490 Joules.
A 330W ceiling rules out desktops
The 600VA rating corresponds to 330W of real load, and runtime collapses as that number is approached: roughly 23 minutes at 100 Watts against the 67 minutes at 40. That is the honest boundary of this product. It will keep networking gear, a NAS or a small workstation alive long enough to ride out a short cut or shut down cleanly; it will not carry a gaming PC and two monitors, and buyers with that load should be looking at a larger unit rather than this one.
Smaller and lighter than the model it replaces
