990 grams and roughly the footprint of A4 paper
Zhiyun's pitch for the Weebill 3E is size, and the measurements back it: 361 x 121 x 265mm folded, 990g on the scale. Digital Camera World's George Cairns treated that as the main reason to buy one, since it drops into a camera bag without a dedicated case. First Quadcopter's Gyuri Flo noted the CNC-cut foam packaging doubles as reusable storage and picked out the axis locks that hold the arms still in transit.
3kg payload, but no lens support bracket
The rated payload is 3kg, enough for a full-frame body with a normal zoom, and CameraMix credited the mix of plastic, rubber and metal for keeping weight down without the gimbal feeling flimsy. The limits show at the edges of that rating: there is no lens support bracket in the box, the official compatibility list is short, and heavy or off-centre lens combinations take longer to balance. Expect balancing to be a learned skill rather than a two-minute job.
16 hours quoted, 2h 46min to recharge
Zhiyun quotes 16 hours of runtime from the 2600mAh cell and a 2h 46min recharge over PD or QC fast charging, and the gimbal will run while plugged in. Digital Camera World found the battery covered a full filming day without a swap. Continuous panning and tilting shortens that, so an all-day outdoor shoot is still worth a power bank.
Sling Mode 2.5 works; the sling arm costs extra
The redesigned grip and adjustable wrist rest of Sling Mode 2.5 are the headline ergonomic change, and Zhiyun claims they cut perceived fatigue by more than 40% in low-slung and vertical shooting. What the box does not include is the sling arm itself. Digital Camera World's reviewer recommended buying one separately for long shoots, which is a step back from the 3S that shipped with it.
Portrait switching still means unbolting the plate
Moving between landscape and vertical is possible but not seamless. According to Digital Camera World, the quick-release plate has to come off and go back on each time, because the 3E drops the integrated quick release the 3S has. For anyone cutting between horizontal and social-video framing repeatedly in one session, that is the most irritating omission on the gimbal.
0.96-inch OLED, Bluetooth shutter, assignable buttons
Control runs through a 0.96-inch OLED that CameraMix found readable in bright sun, plus a variable joystick and assignable buttons that First Quadcopter singled out for cutting menu diving. Bluetooth shutter control starts and stops recording on Canon, Sony and Nikon bodies without a cable. The savings against the 3S are real, and so are the trade-offs: no fill light, no TransMount image transmission, no sling arm.
